As part of our journey across Wales and Borders, we are looking for an experienced and motivated manager to join our team as Delay Attribution Team Manager. A role based both at our Control centre and new, state-of-the-art offices in the centre of Cardiff, this is a central role to help us continue in our mission to become the best railway in the UK.
A senior role within the Performance Team, reporting into the Head of Performance, we are looking for someone to manage the Delay Attribution team ensuring the attribution process is undertaken successfully in its entirety for TfW. From initial incident creation by Network Rail to either acceptance, or resolution at Level 1,2 or 3, the role involves ensuring the greatest possible benefit achieved in terms of the commercial and regulatory interests of TfW in accordance with the Delay Attribution Guide, and to ensure accuracy of TfW performance data. Key responsibilities also include the management of commercial performance regimes and internal performance engagement, in addition to ensuring the team of Delay Attribution Managers are given the tools to be fully competent in their role.
You will also be required to support the Delay Attribution team when needed at all levels of delay attribution, in addition to being confident in meetings to challenge decisions made with rationale and sound understanding of the incident in question. Working closely with your team, you will be the referral point for both day to day queries but also more complex cases where attribution is disputed between parties. Ensuring your team work in a timely fashion, according to the rules outlined within the Delay Attribution Guide, you will also undertake Performance Delivery Reviews with your team members, ensuring any performance needs are addressed whether this be through coaching or other methods.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about service delivery with a diplomatic approach to problem solving, in addition to holding an assertive but sensitive management style. The role will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, as well as building and maintaining relationships with internal teams across the business. Holding sound leadership skills is key to influencing these cross-functional teams and you must be comfortable working with differing levels of seniority throughout the business.
