As part of our journey to transform the railway across Wales and the Borders, we are looking for a motivated and creative individual to join us on a 12 month placement to support the Innovation Manager in the delivery of the Transport for Wales innovation strategy and the TfW Innovation Lab, as an Undergraduate Innovation Specialist.
You will currently be studying towards a degree where innovation is included as a key part of your course.
As part of the role, you will have the opportunity to play an active role in key day to day operations along with a number of exciting projects; this will include supporting with media preparations for campaigns and holding innovation workshops.
Excellent communication skills are a must and you will enjoy engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; with a keen desire to always want to find out more, you will not be afraid to ask questions. You will also create communication and engagement activities that increase awareness of and interest in the lab, ensuring that regular newsletters are created and distributed.
With a growing understanding of recent technology trends and an appreciation of the ‘start up’ scene, you will possess excellent IT skills and will be excited at the prospect of learning more about this area and developing your skills further.
This role will enable you to gain a greater understanding of how innovation contributes to the overall business strategy and will ultimately improve your readiness for the working environment.

Transport for Wales Rail Services have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join us and strengthen our Procurement Team as a Category Manager.
As an integral member of the procurement team, your role will be heavily involved in the procurement of direct and indirect consumables throughout our business. The team have responsibility for purchasing for multiple sites throughout Wales and the successful candidate would be involved in extensive supplier negotiations.
The role will focus on engaging effectively with key stakeholders to deliver procurement strategies in line with the business objectives. Track record of managing the end to end tender process is desired along with strong commercial focus with experience of leading supplier negotiations.
Previous experience of Category Management is essential in IT and indirect goods and services. Experience in the Rail Industry is also desired.

We are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding Procurement Team as a Junior Buyer.
This role will allow you to get involved in all aspects of purchasing processes and supplier management; this will include sourcing new suppliers, dealing with issues arising from existing suppliers as well as working cross functionally to support key procurement projects.
With excellent communication skills, you will be confident in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and will act as the point of contact for the organisation with many key stakeholders.
You will also need to possess strong analytical skills with an eye for detail as you will be responsible for producing the management reports for the team, along with managing the departmental KPIs.
While experience in procurement is desirable, an eagerness to learn is essential and this role is suitable for a recent graduate who is looking to take the next step in their career.

With the oversight of KeolisAmey Wales Cymru, AmeyKeolis InfraCo (operating as Transport for Wales Rail Services) will form a revolutionary new organisation responsible for operating and maintaining the Core Valley Lines infrastructure from January 2020. Transport for Wales Rail Services will be responsible for day to day management of railway infrastructure assets, renewals and asset operations management for the next 14 years.

You will organise and arrange the efficient resourcing to meet the needs of the team to support all works, including appropriately competent staff, plant and materials. Key Responsibilities will include:
· Resource all AKI Infrastructure Management requirements to meet the needs of the scheduled and urgent works carried out with appropriately competent staff.
· Procure staff from within and externally for the business where specialist competencies are needed to support work schedules and programmes.
· Maintain records of competence to ensure that all staff is fully competent and remain so.
· Liaise with the Commercial team to ensure the correct contract terms are in place for sub-contract staff and all hours worked by sub-contract staff are appropriately recorded for payment
· Ensure all documentation required for Site Access Authority is obtained and correctly processed
· Assist with the safety and welfare of the section staff
· Maintain Competency records for IM staff
· Organise IM staff training as required
· Maintain Rosters for IM staff
· Maintain IM road vehicle fleet records
