    Transport for Wales Rail Services is expanding its experienced team to deliver its ambitious Station Improvement Plan which will see c.£200 million investment in railway stations across Wales over the next 15 years. We will provide an important gateway to our cities, towns and villages, creating an integrated, accessible network of which Wales can be proud.

    Over the next five years, this investment in our railway stations will play a significant part in bringing these plans to fruition and to do this we need a Project Manager to join us on a 4 year fixed term basis.

    As Project Manager, you will lead the management and delivery of your programme of projects across the Wales and Borders network. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the works from scoping through to tender award, work completion and handover.

    Key responsibilities:

    ·       Ensure effective project planning, control and monitoring is in place, working in accordance with the TfWRS Project Management Methodology and PRINCE 2 principles.

    ·       Ensure all works are planned and delivered in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and TfWRS company procedures to make sure that a safe working environment is provided for the execution of the work.

    ·       Manage programme and project budgets working with the finance business partner, external contractors and consultants.

    ·       Responsible for commercial aspects of all projects from tendering and contractor selection through to reviewing and agreeing contractor payment applications, variations and final accounts.

    ·       Manage projects across the whole Wales and Borders network as required.

     Knowledge & Experience:

    ·       Experience of managing projects through the whole project lifecycle

    ·       Thorough knowledge of project management principles

    ·       Highly organised, proactive, attention to detail, focused, decisive

    ·       Ability to prioritise and manage multiple workloads at various stages of the project life cycle and manage competing priorities

    ·       Nebosh

    ·       Project Management qualification such as Prince 2/APMP

    As Assistant Project Manager, you will support the Senior Project Managers and Project Managers in delivering the programme of projects across the Wales & Borders network. They will contribute to all aspects of the works from scoping through to tender award, work completion and handover.

     

    Key responsibilities:

     

    ·       Assist Project Manager with delivering projects across Wales & Borders network at any stage when required, in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and TfWRS company procedures

    ·       Support procurement and commercial activities with TFWRS procurement team including scope, specification, tender assessment, supplier selection and contract award

    ·       Support internal and external communications teams through attendance at events, provision of project status updates and timelines to ensure customers and stakeholders are consulted and informed

    ·       Produce and maintain comprehensive project documents throughout all stages of the project life cycle

     

    Skills & Experience:

     

    ·       Must possess good analytical and planning skills and the ability to communicate, influence and present ideas and arguments at all levels, both written and oral.

    ·       Relationship building, personable, and ability to work across different business functions to implement change in Customer Service Delivery

    ·       Proven ability to work effectively within a team.

    ·       Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

    ·       Graduate (or be willing to work towards)

    Over the next five years, this investment in our railway stations will play a significant part in bringing these plans to fruition and to do this we need a Site Supervisor to join us on a 4 year fixed term basis.

     

    The Site Supervisor will support the Senior Project Managers and Project Managers in delivering the programme of projects across the Wales & Borders network during the completion of works on site. You will conduct site supervision in terms of safety, quality, environment, engineering/design compliance, commissioning, functionality and programme. This will involve the management of Contractors and establishing processes to control the delivery of the works.

     

    Key responsibilities:

     

    ·       Act as a role-model for the contractors in terms of behaviours and values; ensure Health & Safety and welfare of staff under their control

    ·       Undertake suitable inspections/ audits at appropriate frequencies for the portfolio of works in regard to safety, quality, environment, sustainability, engineering/ design compliance, functionality and commissioning aligned with CDM regulations

    ·       Adhere to the Station Toolkit and Network Rail, Department for Transport and Office for Rail regulation design guidance

    ·       Ensure all work is completed to specification and the method statement.

    ·       Assist with project close down activities including snagging, completion, handover, entry into service and lessons learnt.

    ·       Ensure projects are handed over fully commissioned along with Health and safety files

     

    Skills & Experience:

     

    ·       Relevant technical experience for the specialist area of construction management being undertaken

    ·       Thorough understanding of the CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation, regulations and industry practices

    ·       Knowledge and demonstrable experience of the implementation of health, safety, environmental and quality management strategies

    ·       Knowledge and demonstrable experience of contract types (including NEC suite of contracts), conditions and successful management processes

    ·       Effective communication skills

    ·       Must hold valid driving licence or willing to learn

    ·       Membership of a relevant professional body and/or educated to degree level (desirable)
