    We have an exciting opportunity for somebody to join the team as an Access Contracts Manager on a secondment basis until November 2019.

    This position plays a vital role in building and maintaining successful working relationships with our key stakeholders and you will be responsible for ensuring we get the very best outcomes from the contracts we have with Network Rail and other parties that allow us to run our trains on the Network and to manage our stations effectively.  

    Based in the Network Access team, you will support the Network Access Strategy Manager to negotiate, plan and manage complex processes and procedures in relation to the track and infrastructure, including negotiating engineering access with Network Rail, and updating contracts. Therefore, it is important that you have the skills and confidence to manage industry contractual frameworks in order to protect and further the requirements of the business.

    You will ideally have experience of managing contracts and interpreting and summarising large volumes of complex data in an articulate manner. You should be able to demonstrate assertiveness and the confidence to make decisions. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to tailor your approach in order to effectively deal with all internal and external stakeholders.

    Strong organisational skills are vital for this role and you will be a competent IT user - Microsoft Office software in particular. Some knowledge of Track Access, Station Access, Engineering Access planning and Timetable planning principles would be very useful, but is not essential - you will learn as you go. More important is a good general understanding of our timetable and operations and the key requirements of our customers and stakeholders, which underpin the team’s decision-making.

    Working as a key member of the Control Centre Management team supporting both the Head of Current Operations and Control Centre Manager, the Customer Reporting & Information Manager is responsible for leading and developing the team that provide the information for both Internal & External Stakeholders, ensuring that the team consistently provide accurate and timely information about our service for our staff and customers.

    With proven leadership experience, this role will require you to deliver and maintain the level of service our internal and external customers expect, through the development of the team and improved processes for Passenger Information During Disruption (PIDD).

    You will use initiative and operational experience to manage and develop processes that deliver to the standards defined by the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) good practice guides, thus achieving our purpose of connecting people to what is important to them!

    You will be an excellent communicator, developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all stakeholders and using these relationships to share best practice.

    Transport for Wales Rail Services have an exciting opportunity in our Operations Function for a Head of Resources role.

    As an integral member of the Resources Team and the wider functions, this role will be heavily involved in ensuring the impartial delivery of staff resources to meet the train plan.

    The primary area of focus will be on the following areas:

    ·      Managing the relationship between available resources and the demands placed upon them (e.g. Special Events, Engineering Works, etc)

    ·      Calculation and design of establishments and staff working patterns (links)

    ·      Ensuring Fatigue and Risk Management compliance in line with industry best practice

          Experience and knowledge of railway operations plus working arrangements is important in this post.

          Proven people leadership experience is also critical to provide support and guidance to the whole resource team.

          The successful candidates must also possess problem solving and analytical skills.
