We are looking for people to join our Trainee Conductor training courses in 2019 for Chester and surrounding areas and to maintain our talent pool for future positions.
What you’ll do

· Making sure our trains run both safely and on time
· Helping our customers board our trains
· Make on-board announcements

We’re here for our customers, whenever they need to travel which means your shift lengths & patterns will vary – so you’ll need to be flexible in your working hours.
· Working an average of 35 hours per week
· Your shift pattern will include early starts/late finishes and also working weekends & Bank Holidays

There are 3 stages to the salary scale:
• Year 1 £26,822 pa (whilst training)
• Years 2 & 3 £44,217 pa
• Year 4 £49,132 pa (fully qualified)

We currently have exciting opportunites for somebody to join the talent pool for our stations team as Customer Service Advisors in our Chester and surrounding stations.
As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for our customers at our stations and will help with anything that they need, so being a people person is a must. One minute you may be helping a customer rush to a train with their bags, the next, researching train times to a small town in North Wales.
This role offers great variety, as your day will begin by undertaking daily cleaning duties of our fleet and then once the fleet has left the station, it’s on to delivering exceptional customer service to our passengers in the station as well as on the platform.

· Ability to remain calm under pressure
· Ability to use your own initiative

We have an exciting opportunity for a driver to be seconded into a driver instructor role in our Cardiff Mainline depot for a period of up to 12 months.
Based at Cardiff Mainline depot, this role will allow you to get involved in a range of activities; you will be responsible for delivering driver training/briefing, coaching and supporting drivers who are returning to work, mentoring drivers undertaking route learning, and completing driver assessments where needed.
You will also provide support and feedback to the Driver Management Team when required.
You must be a qualified Train Driver, with at least 3 years driving experience and knowledge of routes and traction for the Cardiff Mainline network. You should excel in your current role, have excellent written & verbal communication skills and above all, possess heaps of motivation for the driver role. You will need to hold or be prepared to work towards the Coaching & Assessor and Presentation Skills awards, as well as having good IT skills.
